For 2020, the Grand Touring Reserve and Signature trims of the CX-5 gain an extra 10 lb-ft of torque on their turbocharged engine and a new, larger 8-inch touchscreen inside. The vehicle also gains the Engine Harmonics Enhancer, a system that produces engine noise to further enhance the sensations of the drive experience.
The base model of the 2020 CX-5 gains newly standardized driver-assist features in the form of the i-Activsense suite. There’s also improved insulation from NVH (noise, vibration and harshness). Those waiting on the diesel iteration of the 2020 CX-5 will likely be waiting a few months; it’s expected to come a bit later than the gas iteration, just as the diesel model did last year.
The 2020 Mazda CX-5 gets a fuel economy of 27 mpg on the highway. It manages this while pumping out 250 horsepower. It also benefits from the predictive i-Activ AWD® system, which uses environmental data to anticipate when slippage or loss of traction may occur.
