Our vehicles come with many running parts and fluids that help keep it performing at top levels. To ensure that your vehicle keeps performing well, you need to get regular service appointments. One of these services includes oil changes. Today, we will be discussing how often you should be getting the oil changed in your Mazda vehicle. Read on to learn more.
How often should you get an oil change?
While we used to have to change our oil every 3,000 miles, upgrades to engines have increased that number. The oil in your Mazda model should be changed between 7,500 and 10,000 miles. However, for a more precise number, check your vehicle’s owner’s manual. This will provide you with the oil change mileage marks for your Mazda vehicle’s specific model and year. Once you know when to get your oil changed, be sure to schedule an appointment.
What type of oil does each Mazda model need?
While you only need to get your oil change after 7,500 to 10,000 miles, you still need to make sure your oil is at the right level. Pulling out the dipstick, wipe off the oil with a rag, dip it back in and pull it out. The oil should be in between the two lines, but closer to the top line. If it is low, you need to fill it. While you should consult your owner’s manual for the correct oil to use, the general recommendation from Mazda is to use an SAE 0W-20 oil. You can get a synthetic or blend version.
