The Mazda MX-5 Miata has always been a popular choice with sports car enthusiasts on a budget. 2022 Mazda MX-5 Performance

Available in four models – MX-5 Miata Sport, MX-5 Miata Club, MX-5 Miata Grand Touring, and an MX-5 Miata Club with Brembo BBS Recaro Package, the 2022 Mazda MX-5 Miata is powered by a rear-wheel drive-equipped 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G engine that makes 181 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque. The MX-5 Miata Sport and Club models come equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, while the MX-5 Miata Grand Touring is offered in either the manual transmission or a quick-shifting six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

Although the power output may not sound much, the 2022 Mazda MX-5 Miata can go from 0-60 in just about 5.7 seconds. But where the roadster truly shines is around corners, thanks to its well-balanced, lightweight body, compact size, and an incredible power-to-weight ratio that makes it feel peppy right from the get-go and offers an almost unparalleled handling capability.

As a bonus, the low-displacement engine and lightweight, compact body allow the Miata to achieve impressive EPA fuel economy ratings of 26 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway.

What New For 2022?

For the 2022 model year, Mazda has tried to improve the handling and driver comfort by including a new technology called Kinematic Posture Control (KPC) which helps the MX-5 Miata behave like an extension of the driver’s body without adding a single gram of weight. It helps improve high g-cornering precision by suppressing body roll and making the steering response feel more linear through tight corners, thereby improving confidence and safety.

Also new for 2022, a new Platinum Quartz Metallic exterior color and a new Terracotta Nappa leather seats option for the MX-5 Miata Grand Touring.
